PERIODICAL EXHIBITION
"Necropolises of Ancient Lesbos - The New Finds"
Along with the permanent exhibition, a periodical one titled "Necropolises of Ancient Lesbos - The New Finds" is housed in the New Building of the Mytilene Archaeological Museum. The exhibition opened on 23 March 1999 and will last until March 2000.
Representative types of graves and burial offerings, dating from the Archaic until the Late Roman period, are presented. The graves and offerings come from the North and South Necropolises of Mytilene and from the Necropolis of ancient Antissa and Pyrrha. The exhibition includes explanatory texts, photographs, maps and brochures that contribute to the better understanding of the exhibits.
